Amaterurish but worth a try

This is actually more of a 3.5. I really like the premise of this story. The passage of time is unclear, though, and the dialogue is stilted and amateurish. And, honestly, why is it that so many YA authors can't write female protagonists that don't stomp around everywhere having a hissy fit about everything? Someone who has been through what Mina has should be more mature and less prone to overreact every three minutes. Now, having said that, there is enough positive elements to the actual storytelling that I'm giving the series an extended try. I read the short story that follows about Jared's Quest and was very encouraged. it was much better! I'm currently reading the sequel, with hopes that the author may have grown toward correcting some of these shortcomings.

Great book! Fantasy- "real world" mixed with the fairy world.

The first in a series. this first book might seem a bit slow or less interesting story wise at first but keep reading it gets better and better and the action is worth it ;0)
Learn and grow with Mina, a 15 year old (in the beginning of the 1st book) and the main character +Heroin, as she learns new things about herself, her world- or rather worlds, about her family, about growing up (with a twist) and about herself in so many different aspects.
The characters in the book and in the series are varied and we always get to know new ones, some even new to Mina or she learns new things about them that makes them more influential in her life (and in the story) and so Mina's circle of people in her life grow each time.
This is a unique story- it might seam at first like it will have an obvious story line and generic but NOPE! There are twists and turns, secret to unfold, action, ups and downs, interesting characters you learn about as the learn about themselves. I love these kinds of "worlds" were our "regular known" world in entwined with a world of magic, fantasy, were myths and fairies are real and also feel, think and interact with "our" world...It gives it color, fun, mystery, different kinds of challenges and you get to spend time in this world nd wish you were a part of it.
After finishing this 1st book go ahead to the next one! Read them all! I have - twice :0)

- As for age of the readers: there is nothing to explicit or too violent in detail. I think 14 and up can read and enjoy the books though the older you are the more you'll understand the nuances and the characters' conflicts... I recommend parents to read these books at the same time as their teens (or in advance)...It might even be a great way to interact and bond - by discussing the books and the issues that come up there with the fun fantasy sides as well :0)

A great read. goes too fast!!

Awesome book! Kept me entertained, didn't want it to end. Ya know that kind of book that has a happy ending but makes you feel kinda sad at the same time cause ya wish it could keep going? Yeah, well that was this book. I was wanting more. A definate read if you are into this kind of subject. I would definately recommend this to a friend. I'd say not too shabby at all for a self published writer. Although there were a couple of error's but nothing that can't be overlooked.
