To give a book a Review of "1" and then say it was too short, when the description says it is a short novella, is extremely unfair to this author. Leigh Michaels is an excellent writer and her books are always entertaining. A good read at 99 cents is worth it!

Charming story

This was a very short story but very charming and sweet. Basically the h is a sensible girl and her marriage is arranged to the second son of a Marquis. The Marquis thinks the h will be a stabilising influence in rakish Harry's life. The h knows it's a mistake but doesn't really see how she can get out of it. The problem is that she is also more attracted to someone else. I won't give spoilers because honestly the book is very short and worth reading

Not bad

I'm not truly a fan of stories where the H loses his first wife and struggles to come to terms with her death.

+++Spoilers+++
This book was really difficult because he loses her after they are expecting a baby together using a surrogate mother. The H then rejects the idea of having the baby and wants the h to have an abortion. The h refuses and leaves without taking any money. She gets a waitressing job to support herself and her ailing father. Things are very tough until the H accidentally finds her and is stunned to see that she is still pregnant. I must say I didn't like him very much at that point and although I understand he was grieving for his late wife, he still had responsibilities towards the h and his unborn child.

The story is pretty short and we do get our hea but in my opinion it all happens pretty soon after the H loses his wife (less than a year).

Ever Since Eve...and into the night

I have read other books by this author and enjoyed them immensely; however, I haven't read her for quite some time. The night I began this book, Ever Since Eve, I had planned to just read enough to get sleepy and call it a night. So much for that! I read it from cover to cover that night. I found the topic interesting and the characters well-developed and varied. Ms. Browning's style of writing is clear and makes one want to see around the corner to what's next. I look forward to reading more of her books soon.

A BEAUTIFUL ROMANCE - Ever Since Eve

EVER SINCE EVE is one of the best romances I've ever read. This was a book I couldn't put down, and the characters won me over right away. I enjoyed learning about surrogate motherhood and the emotions that the mother and adoptive parents go through. The author is clearly sensitive to difficult situations and skillfully dealt with all of them, tying up the ends in a way that was anything but predictable. EVER SINCE EVE is a well-crafted story that rang true in every way. Brava, Pamela Browning! Well done.

The Corpse washer... The Pomegranate Alone... It is what it is! We all are Jodi!

The Corpse washer, this novel of Sinan Antoon that it is translated from its Arabic version titled “The Pomegranate Alone” by him too to English, and as I read it couple of times and now having it in English, the same feelings that struck my high walls of isolation and demolished them to appear naked as the reality is naked, bitter and painful!
Reading and absorbing the main character in this novel “Jawad or Jodi" let me think, and to believing this story is not fiction, I felt him, lived his questions, transformed myself to this character, and after I finished the reading, I was naked again, felt of huge emptiness, indeed I just want to go back between the words to find myself, yes it is sorrow, fear, and pain but whenever I read any chapter, I feel I am standing next to Jodi, as his close friend that he will never die and will never leave him alone!
This novel, the corpse washer is a must to read, if you want to see Iraq and get the picture from another corner, this novel will help you, and it is highly recommended!

Although I am no longer a novel reader as I used to be when I was younger but this book was an exception! I bought it when I heard the author in an interview on NPR and I was impressed by the dialogue and felt compelled to order the book and read it. I am an iraqi teacher who left Iraq right after the first Gulf war just like the author and I lived and witnessed most of the events in the story!! However, you don't need to be Iraqi to appreciate the novel because it is a master piece beyond description. I was quite taken by the book for days and weeks!
I highly recommend it.

Even if you don't have interest in becoming an esthetician, this book offers great advice to care for your skin and over all health.

Might as well go to a plastic surgeon or med spa

This book does have amazing skin "transformations", however, you'll notice that each transformation required treatments and products that easily add up to thousands of dollars. The average "makeover" person in this book gets several laser/light treatments, injectables, Rx products, professional peels, etc. So what's the point of this book? Also you'll notice that Kate also assigns each makeover subject to her products...which cost $85 for just an exfoliant.

This book does have some information on skincare ingredients and "medspa" type treatments like lasers and injectables, but other than that, I don't think it's useful. She also advocates things like "Avoid dairy" "Avoid bread" which is not strongly guided by evidence based medicine.

I had high expectations with regards to this book and it is not that great. It provides high level explanation on how to achieve good skin ... and spending thousand of pounds in cosmetic procedures of various kind. This book is mainly a marketing tool for the author. Some of the info is not even correct. i liked the section on how emotions have an impact on the conditions of the skin, but the rest of the book is stuff that you can easily find on magazines and on the internet.

OK if you want to have some basic info about skin and skincare - with the bias towards overpriced products manufactured by the author and incorrect info on witch hazel and plant extracts that are wrongly indicated by the author as safe and recommended. Also drinking red wine is not going to provide antioxidants, alcohol is simply not good! Overall an average book and I did not enjoy it.

Amazing.

I'd never heard of Stumpy Nubs before attending a woodworking show in September in Kansas City. I found his presentation to be the most interesting, entertaining and enjoyable of all those I attended. He actually brought his shop-made tools to the show and had them on display in the vendor marketplace. Seeing the tools in person only made Stumpy's ideas, and his skills, more impressive.

This book does an excellent job of describing 12 shop-made tools. Like most people who work wood I've knocked out a number of jigs over the years but Stumpy takes things to a level I'd never imagined. The amount of thought put into the details make his tools accurate and convenient. I think many readers will find at least one project (and quite probably more) they'll want to build.

Of course hearing Stumpy present his ideas in a live setting adds an element of humor and entertainment that no book could match. That's not a criticism of the book. It's an endorsement of attending one of his presentations.

Great for any woodworker!

I just recently discovered Stumpy Nubs on YouTube and was greatly impressed with the machines and jigs he has developed. I bought this book (Kindle version) mainly for the drum sander, but I think I will probably build most, if not all of the projects in the book. I read through half of the chapters and it is easy to follow and written with a sense of humor. This is a great book for any woodshop and I hope it is followed up with another book with more projects.

Great project book for the budget conscious woodworker

I ordered this on Stumpy Nubs website, to support his work... That said, it is cheaper here. I did not expect more than an interesting read, I do enjoy his Videos on the internet.
This book pleasantly surprised me. I has five pages of background and the balance (166 pages) of project drawings. 12 shop machines that can be made for the home shop (or any shop). I plan to make probably half of them, only half because I have already made or purchased the other half.

This book is great for anyone interested in home woodworking with machines on a budget.
